APC – Australian Packaging Covenant
Confoil has been a signatory to the National Packaging Covenant since July 2002. As of the 1st July 2010, the NPC has been replaced by the NEW Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) which brings with it a significant change in emphasis and a more flexible approach to sustainability & recycling.
“The Covenant is a voluntary initiative, by Government and Industry, to reduce the environmental effects of packaging on the Environment. It is designed to minimise the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging, conserve resources through better design and production processes and facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials.” NPC website – home page
The EAFA is an international body representing foil rollers, container, household foil and flexible packaging manufacturers. The organisation consists of over 130 members across 24 countries.
